Types of Computer

When ever we talk about the types of computers we use the term PC (Personal Computer). This can be a Desktop Computer or A Laptop Computer which has the same capabilities.

Personal Computers come in two main styles i.e PC (Personal Computer) and MAC (Macintosh). PCs (Personal Computer) are the most common type. There are many companies which manufactures these computers. These companies are called Computer Manufacturers.

Personal Computers usually come with Microsoft Windows Operating System> MACintosh has its own operating system. Its name is Apple and that comes with MAC OS X operating System

 Computers come in many other shapes and sizes i.e Mobile Phone, Tablets, CPU and even TV which has a built in CPU. But note that they may not do anything other than A Desktop or a Laptop can do.

There is another type of computer that plays an important role in our lives. These are called Servers

There are many other different types of computers which affect our lives in a verity of ways.

What is Computer

Computer is an electronic device which stores process and retrives information. Through Computer we can write letters, Make Notes, Tables, Send E-mails, Surfing through the internet. A computer can also be used in Data base management, Games and Presentations etc.

We can simply divide computer into Two parts:

Hardware

This is a part of computer which has physical structure. It can be seen and touch. Computer Mouse, Keyboard, Motherboard etc are known as the Hardware parts of computer.

Software

This is a set of instruction to Hardware about a specific task. Software can be seen but cannot be touched. Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Windows etc are some examples of Software.

Hardware

We can divide Hardware into three basic parts:

Input Devices

Those devices through which we Enter/put data into the computer is called Input Devices in the following Figure Keyboard, Mouse and Mic are Input Devices.

Output Devices

Those devices through which we get/receive data from Computer is called Output Devices. In the following Figure Screen/Monitor, Speakers are Output Devices

System Unit

It is the core part of Computer through which all the Input and Output devices is controlled..
